Upper MidWest Users Group (ELUNA/Ex Libris)
Bill DeJohn recognized for continued sponsorship and support of the Ex Libris Upper MidWest User
Group meetings. Handing him the certificate is Ellen Kotrba, ODIN.
In addition to a presenting a 40th Anniversary themed session (see a link to the handout below), Bill
DeJohn was presented with an award while attending the Upper MidWest User Group (ELUNA/Ex Libris). The
conference was hosted by Minitex in 2006, 2007, and 2009. The award recognizes the efforts of Bill and
the Minitex staff in sponsoring this event in the past by providing both staff and financial resources.
This year, the conference was hosted by the ODIN office and took place from October 16 through October
17 in Fargo, North Dakota.

Minnesota Library Association Annual Conference
Minnesota State Librarian Nancy Walton and Bill DeJohn share news and ice cream during Minitex's 40th
Anniversary Reception at MLA.
At MLA in Duluth, MN, we sponsored a Minitex 40th Anniversary reception in the exhibit hall complete with
music, appetizers, and ice cream. Attendees were invited to stop by the Minitex booth to sign our 40th
Anniversary guest book, and to wish Bill DeJohn (Minitex Director) well in his retirement.

South Dakota Library Association Annual Conference
Kathy Drozd, Carla Urban, Bill DeJohn, and Agnes Lee check out the Minitex cake at SDLA.
In Spearfish, Bill DeJohn presented 40 Years of Collaboration: Minitex and South Dakota Libraries Then
and Now. He noted Minitex and South Dakota Libraries have been working together since 1978, which was
when the first contract for Minitex services was signed with the South Dakota State Library (11 institutions
participating).
South Dakota Library Association gave Bill DeJohn its "Friend of the Library" award. Ronelle Thompson,
Mikkelsen Library Director at Augustana College and Chair, South Dakota Library Network Executive Council,
made the presentation, and noted that Bill was receiving this award for the second time.

North Dakota Library Association Annual Conference
Anne Hatinen, NDLA President Rita Ennen, and Mark Wilhelmi at the Minitex 40th Anniversary sponsored break,
Minot, North Dakota.
In Minot, Minitex staff attended the 105th Annual Conference of the North Dakota Library Association together
with more than 160 other attendees. We had a special 40th Anniversary edition of our ever-popular Minitex pens,
which we handed out at our booth in the exhibitors' room. Attendees helped us celebrate the Minitex 40th
Anniversary during the Thursday afternoon break.
