Whether you catalog serials full-time or once in a blue moon, you may be interested in an upcoming Basic Serials Cataloging workshop taking place in Moorhead, MN, in late February 2014. This two-day training session, developed by CONSER's Serials Cataloging Cooperative Training Program (SCCTP), provides the basic principles for original and copy cataloging of print and electronic serials using RDA. It will focus on the elements contained in the CONSER Standard Record (CSR), including appropriate MARC21 tagging, as well as problem-solving and decision-making pertinent to serials cataloging.
This course does not provide instruction on the MARC21 holdings format or advanced serials cataloging matters.
