OCLC Digital Archive

The Digital Archive is a solution for the long-term management of digital collections. OCLC's Digital Archive can manage different file formats such as TIFFs, GIFs, PDFs and HTML pages. The Digital Archive helps bring accessibility and longevity to digital information.

Highlights

Visit OCLC's Digital Archive Web page for an extended list of features. There are two ways to archive, each having unique features:

Web archiving

  • Archiving process is integrated with Connexion
  • Locate and harvest all or specific parts of Web sites
  • The Web harvester grabs existing metadata from the pages being archived so you don't have to input it yourself
  • You can use OCLC as your repository or your own local archive

Batch archiving

  • Uses a Submission Builder tool so there is no need to use Connexion
  • Cost-effective and fast for depositing a large collection into a repository
  • Preservation metadata records are generated automatically by OCLC

On OCLC's Digital Archive Web page, you can also view how the two archiving processes work, learn more about workshops and grants and funding to get your project started and read about organizations using the digital archive such as the Government Printing Office.
