WebJunction

WebJunction is an online community where library staff meet to share ideas, solve problems, take online courses—and have fun.

Background

In 2002, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awarded OCLC a three-year grant to build a portal for public libraries and other organizations that provides open access to information.

    Here you will find computer support, information about software, hardware, security and tips on providing accessibility.

    This section provides materials for specific types of libraries such as rural and small libraries, tribal nations and Canadian libraries.

How to Join

Registration is free, and there are many other benefits to joining such as:

  • Online courses for technology training and other professional development.
  • You will be able to post and reply to messages to the All Aboard community discussion space.
  • If you choose, other members of the WebJunction community will be able to see your interests and your organization, and send you private messages.
  • You can ask to be added to WebJunction's mailing list so that you will receive a monthly newsletter that points you to what is new on the site.
  • You can choose to participate in WebJunction electronic evaluations, giving you the opportunity to help shape WebJunction's future and make it into a better resource for everyone.
