About the MINITEX/Minnesota State Library Standards Review Task Force
Mission Statement
In order to support cost-effective, efficient resources sharing in Minnesota, the Task Force
will:
1. Identify and recommend standards and guidelines for data
transfer and linkages among online library systems to the Minnesota State Library Advisory
Council and the MINITEX and Minnesota Office of Higher Education Advisory Committee.
2. Monitor developments relating to standards for library
automation and information services including the following areas:
- Activities of national standards setting organizations
- Library systems activities in Minnesota
- State of Minnesota and regional projects and initiatives
- State and federal policy and regulations
- Telecommunications and networking services
- Hardware/software implementations of library related standards
3. Provide information to the library community regarding the
existence, implications and applications of standards and guidelines.
4. Comment and vote on proposed NISO standards.
