PsycINFO

PsycINFO provides citations with abstracts to the scholarly literature in the psychological, social, behavioral and health sciences. This interdisciplinary database includes material of relevance to psychologists and professionals in related fields such as psychiatry, management, business, education, social science, neuroscience, law, medicine and social work. PsycINFO contains more than 2.3 million records and is updated weekly.

PsycARTICLES

PsycARTICLES™ is a database of full-text articles from journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association and Hogrefe & Huber. The database includes all material from the print journals with the exception of ads and editorial board lists. The database contains more than 116,000 full-text articles as of June 2006.

PsycBOOKS

PsycBOOKS contains the full text in PDF of scholarly titles published by APA Books and others. Includes complete text, including all chapters, introductory content and index. The database contains more than 800 titles, with more than 200 classic resources in psychology dating from 1806, mostly out of print. Includes the exclusive electronic release of the APA/Oxford University Press Encyclopedia of Psychology, which contains more than 1,500 authored entries.

PsycCRITIQUES

PsycCRITIQUES contains full-text reviews of current books and popular films. This product, which is now available only electronically, replaced the former print journal, Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books. This searchable database of more than 6,000 reviews, dating back to 1995, includes a table of contents for recent weekly releases. Annual publication of more than 900 reviews.

PsycEXTRA

PsycEXTRA® is a gray literature database that supplies librarians, consumers, policy-makers, clinicians, information professionals and researchers with a wide variety of credible information in psychology, behavioral science and health. Coverage consists primarily of material written for professionals but disseminated outside of peer-reviewed journals. This includes publications issued by private research institutes, corporations, government and military agencies, scientific societies, health organizations and more.

The APA Psychology databases are offered on a variety of vendor platforms. We offer the following options:

  • ProQuest (CSA) Illumina
  • OVID SP

Trials

Trials are available at any time. Please select a vendor and let Minitex know which database and vendor platform you would like to trial.

Minitex Pricing

The subscription price is made up of two fees—the data fee from the APA (American Psychological Association) and the platform/vendor fee charged by the available vendors. The ultimate price depends on these two factors along with the total number of subscribing libraries. Quotes will be supplied on a request basis.

License Agreements (Terms & Conditions)

If you are a new subscriber, license agreements will be signed with both the APA and the vendor at the time of your order. Existing subscribers do not need to complete a new agreement.

How to Order or Renew

Email your FTE (2- and 4-year academic libraries), population served (public libraries) or number of beds (hospital libraries) along with your preferred vendor to Minitex no later than September 22, 2006. We will respond with a quote.

Please complete the order/renewal form and fax it to Minitex.

The subscription period will run from December 31, 2006 to December 30, 2007.

To pay by credit card, please complete the credit card authorization form, order form and license agreement (if required), and fax all documents to our secure fax line at 612-626-5380.

You can access statistical reports, via EBSCOadmin, in the following way:

The Reports and Statistics page allows you to select from a variety of reports. Selecting any one of these will bring you to a screen with options for you to select. In most cases you will need to select the fields you would like to include in your report, the field you wish to sort by and a date range. You will have the option to view the report on-screen and print it, or to email a delimited file to yourself.

For usage data from January 2005 to present:

  • Ovid STATS is available to all Ovid Web Gateway customers through the Ovid Administrative Menu.

For usage data from 2002 through December 31, 2004:

  • Visit the Ovid Online Statistics Web site.
  • Enter your Ovid Administration UserID and your Ovid Administration Password.
  • Click "Submit".
  • Select the group. Your statistics for all your groups may be stored in one file or in multiple files.
  • Click on "Generate Report". The default report format is Database Usage by Database.
