Product Highlights

CountryWatch is an online aggregator and original author of geopolitical, economic, historical, environmental, cultural and corporate information, news and data on 193 recognized countries throughout the world. CountryWatch offers a variety of subscription options providing all or some of the following services: Country Reviews, Country Wire, CountryWatch@School, CountryWatch Data and CountryWatch Map Gallery.

Premium Access Subscription

The Premium Access Subscription includes:

• Country Review: provides comprehensive demographic, political, economic, social, corporate, cultural and environmental information and data on each of the 193 recognized countries in a concise and consistent online format.
• Country Wire: provides real-time news for each of the 193 recognized countries; it features articles from a dozen newswire services including but not limited to United Press International, Pan African, Interfax, Xinhua and the Caribbean News Agency, and accumulates these articles in a one-year, keyword searchable archive.
• CountryWatch@School: provides a Social Studies resource that includes quizzes, activities and lesson plans derived from the Country Reviews and the Country Wire. CountryWatch@School is tailored to grades 8 through 12, and it has been developed in accordance with the National Social Studies Standard.
• CountryWatch Map Gallery: contains over 170 thematic maps covering cultural, economic, macroeconomic and environmental topics. As well, it provides 13 graphs programs that forecast trends in topics such as population growth and macroeconomic activity per region.
• CountryWatch Data: a storehouse of over ten years worth of raw data covering macroeconomic, economic, health, demographic, cultural, sociological and environmental statistics. The results of data searches are downloadable in Excel and GIS mapping software and allow for cross-country comparisons.

Trials

Complete the trial form and somebody will contact you from CountryWatch with trial details. The trial is available through username and password access only. If you choose to subscribe to CountryWatch, you may opt for IP authenticated access, username and password access or URL-authenticated access.

Minitex Pricing

Prices effective as of October 1, 2007.

All access is for unlimited simultaneous usage. Remote access is available through authenticated means only (proxy server, username & password, library barcode, etc.).

The CountryWatch license agreement is available on the Web site. Use of the database assumes that the user is complying with the terms of use.

How to Order or Renew

Your library may subscribe at any time. Please complete the order/renewal form and fax it to Minitex (except in the case of credit card payment).

To pay by credit card, please complete the credit card authorization form, order form and license agreement (if required), and fax all documents to our secure fax line at 612-626-5380.
