How to Build Your Own Unique Collection

Libraries can enhance their eBook offering and support special curriculum needs by building their own collection. Libraries can create customized collections via the NetLibrary catalog using TitleSelect™. This tool helps libraries select titles, create title lists and order eBooks from NetLibrary. In addition, NetLibrary's collection librarians can provide recommendations for your selection.

After selecting your titles, please send the email directly to Rita Baladad at MINITEX. If you choose the "Submit this order" option from the TitleSelect catalog, NetLibrary will process your order and forward the fulfillment receipt to MINITEX for billing.

Pricing Model

  • Libraries pay the publisher list price as displayed in the catalog, plus a service fee of the library's choosing per book order.
  • The service fees are 55% prepaid/ongoing or 15% annual of original list price.
  • MARC records for all titles acquired are included with the purchase as part of the service fee.

For more details, please contact Susan Ruh (ext. 8752) or Mike Echery (ext. 8737) at 800-413-4557.

  • A participant's unique collection may be searched simultaneously with the MINITEX eBook Collection, appearing seamless to the end user.
  • A library can establish specific checkout times for unique collection titles.
  • After an initial purchase of 100 titles, there is no minimum purchase.
  • Participants purchasing a unique collection may add their own logo to accompany the MINITEX logo.
  • The logo may also be linked to your library's Web page or another page on your Web site.

Use the Collections

Libraries participating in Shared Collections I, II or III access the titles at the NetLibrary Web site. Access is via IP-authentication and/or a secure referring URL.

Libraries that have registered to participate in Collection I or have paid to participate in Collections II or III may also load MARC records for the titles into their catalogs. Patrons may link from the catalog records directly to the eBook.

If you are a participating library but are not authenticated, please contact NetLibrary at support@netlibrary.com.

If you are an authenticated user experiencing technical issues or have functionality questions, please use NetLibrary's online contact form to submit your issue. In the message box, provide a detailed description of the problem you are experiencing.

By submitting your issue online, NetLibrary is able to collect technical information about your NetLibrary account.

Remote Access

If your library has a way to authenticate your remote users, NetLibrary can be used from a remote location. In addition, users may access their NetLibrary collection, as long as they have created a user account in the library/on campus at an authenticated terminal or through a proxy server and/or secure referring URL that NetLibrary recognizes.
