Product Highlights
3M Library Systems—helping librarians improve the efficiency, productivity and customer
service of their libraries by offering security, producitivity and information management
solutions that harness technology to help create a more human library, one that allows
librarians to spend more time helping people.
Library Security Systems
3M detection systems help ensure that no materials leave the library without being checked out.
They are safe for magnetic media, comply with the ADA, have audible/visible alarms and can be
combined with 3M™ Voice Alarm and/or 3M™ Video Security Systems.
Tattle-Tape Security Strips™
Tattle-Tape security strips offer protection for all your library materials, including magnetic
media when used with a 3M Security System. 3M's archival-quality adhesive will not degrade
library materials. Desensitize completely to eliminate false alarms. Resensitize to 100% signal
strength for the highest level of security.

RFID Tags
RFID tags let you accurately identify and track your library materials. Information about the
item is stored in a tiny memory chip, and the tags are rewriteable, so you don't have to buy
new ones when you change the information. RFID tags eliminate "line of sight" needed to process
materials. Each tag is guaranteed for the life of the item it identifies.
-
CD8
An ISO-compliant donut-shaped RFID hub tag applied directly to CDs and DVDs. It eliminates
the need to open cases or find barcodes, allowing for faster processing, and processes multiple
items simultaneously. It also facilitates automated sorting.
-
D1
A rewritable RFID tag that identifies and tracks materials via information stored on its memory
chip. Used in conjunction with Tattle-Tape™ Security Strips to protect marked library items.
- D4—Basic RFID
- D7—Standard RFID
-
D8—Premium RFID
An ISO standard tag that supports security for the 3M™ One-Tag RFID System. Rewritable tag
identifies and tracks materials by storing item information on its memory chip.
Red Tag Disc Media Protection System
The proven Red Tag system is simple to implement and works in conjunction with standard DVD and CD cases.
A red tag inserted into the media case locks the disk onto the case and locks the case closed. Only the
special unlocking device can quickly and easily remove the red tag and free the disk for library customers.
