Product Highlights
Ariel provides the basis for librarians and information centers to excel in online
document delivery—right to the user's desktop. A robust campus or regional
delivery system of this sort requires that end users have access to MIME email, enough
electronic mailbox capacity and access to TIFF viewers. RLG assists librarians in
locating free or shareware multipage viewers.
Ariel is designed to make your operations easier and faster—whether you're a
document supply house, an interlibrary loan librarian or anyone who needs a better way
to send and receive materials than your present setup.
More Highlights
-
Has the ability to import and print documents created at any resolution. So Ariel
workstation/printer setups can receive all your electronically delivered documents,
whether they come from library interlibrary loan departments or commercial suppliers.
-
Incorporates an enhanced internal document viewer that enables you to preview material
as you scan or receive it. So senders can check to see if any pages are missing or
askew before transmitting, and recipients can verify the completeness and clarity of
delivered documents before printing or forwarding them.
-
Lets you insert and delete images in scanned documents. So you can manage the size of
files you store and send or make corrections.
-
Lets you monitor the status of materials you've sent and see what is still pending
receipt; see the real-time status of incoming Ariel email and items sent via FTP; and
set the intervals when Ariel will check for incoming items in your mailbox. And Ariel
files unrelated messages (such as network messages) in a separate folder for your
disposal. So you can manage your workflow, rather than it managing you.
-
Can print a range of pages or selected pages in a document. So you can evaluate and
select pertinent pages for use, without having to print or forward the entire document.
-
Enables you to select and configure a scanner from the menu. So it's easier to add a
new scanner or switch over to another if maintenance is needed.
-
Conforms to Windows® application and setup guidelines. So you benefit from improved
stability, a better desktop-user interface, solid communications software, faster printing
and easier installation, trouble-shooting and upgrading.
