MLAC Sends Materials for the Google Books Library Project
This fall, the Minnesota Library Access Center (MLAC) paged over 6,000 books which were sent off to Google
for scanning as part of the Google Books Library
Project. The books (all from MLAC's University of Minnesota–Twin Cities collection) were duplicate
copies of materials held elsewhere on campus. Because of the facility's tall, compact shelving, staff were
able to quickly page all the books and have them staged for shipping within just a couple of weeks.
