In this latest recording you will hear Helen Stub give an historical account of the Twin City
Library Club (TCLC). Founded in 1906, the TCLC was an organization that intended to help
librarians of St. Paul and Minneapolis become acquainted with each other and the library
collections of the Twin Cities.
Though it is a slight departure from the other interviews included in the Minitex Oral History
Project, the story of the TCLC is an early account of library collaboration (including some
resource sharing) in Minnesota, and includes luminaries such as Gratia Countryman, Clara Baldwin,
W.W. Folwell, and John E. King.
