15th Annual Interlibrary Loan Conference—May 1, 2006

"Interlibrary Loan: It's About the User"

More than 150 staff members from MINITEX participating libraries attended the session held on May 1, 2006 at the Continuing Education & Conference Center, St. Paul Campus, University of Minnesota. Nancy John, Digital Publishing Librarian and Associate Professor Emerita, University Library, University of Illinois, Chicago, gave the morning's keynote address entitled, "Not Quite at Your Fingertips."

Also popular was the presentation by Suzanne Ward & Corinne Hill, "Buy, Don't Borrow: Interlibrary Loan Meets Collection Development," which provided a valuable comparison of the challenge of implementing a "buy versus borrow" program to complement traditional interlibrary loan systems in two very different interlibrary loan settings.
