Thomas Frey

Keynote speaker Thomas Frey

Participants at the annual MnLINK User Group meeting on September 11, 2006 had a chat with Leonardo DaVinci (in the form of keynote speaker Thomas Frey, executive director and futurist of the DaVinci Institute) about "The Future of Libraries." Afternoon breakout sessions dealt with topics ranging from the MnLINK Gateway and NCIP to the future of the OPAC.

Frey challenged his listeners to prepare libraries to meet the challenges of a world that we can't fully predict. He said libraries must work to extend their influence and seek to move from being centers of information to centers of culture.
