Requests for Other Minnesota Libraries

MLAC staff at work Items in MLAC are available for use by any Minnesota resident with a valid library card. Items can be requested through the MINITEX Document Delivery Service for delivery to your local library. Contact your library for more information and to place requests.

MINITEX also provides Electronic Document Delivery (MEDD) of articles and non-circulating items as allowed by copyright law. Items designated as "In-Library Use Only" can be sent to your local library for perusal but are not permitted to circulate outside the library.

Complete MLAC holdings are included in MnCAT, the University of Minnesota's online catalog and MnLINK, the statewide virtual library.

A reading room is available in the Elmer L. Andersen Library. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Items designated as "Non-Circulating" can only be browsed at MLAC's facility in Andersen Library on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities Campus.

On-demand paging is not available at MLAC at this time.

Because of the unique, high-density storage conditions at MLAC, walk-in or on-demand service is not available.

Returning items to MLAC & renewals

You can return or renew MLAC items at the library where you make your interlibrary loan transaction.

Fines

All fines and overdue notices will be handled by the host library that makes your interlibrary loan transaction. MLAC charges a minimum of $100 for any lost or non-returned items.
