Donations

Donations can always be shipped to Serials Exchange at the following address:

If you are located in the Twin Cities Metro Area, there is a pick-up service for large donations: please box the material up and telephone to arrange for pick up (612-624-6368). Please keep in mind that the Library's shipping staff needs at least a week's notice and an accurate count of the boxes to determine staff and vehicle requirements for picking up a donation.

If you are located outside of the seven-county Metro Area:

  • Please send a list of material you are willing to donate via email or fax (contact information for Serials Exchange). We will then respond to your message and indicate the items we would need.
  • Once we have determined which items are needed, we can advise you further on shipping.

Donations & Tax Information

If you would like a letter of acknowledgement from the University of Minnesota for tax purposes, then please contact the University Library Gifts Office at 612-624-9064. The Library Gifts staff is better able to answer your questions regarding tax-deductible donation to the University Libraries.

Current prices for non-University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus MINITEX participants:

  • $4.00 per Periodical Issue
  • $8.00 per Special Set/Web site item

Current prices for residents outside of the MINITEX region:

  • $5.00 per Periodical Issue
  • $10.00 per Special Set/Web site item
