The Serials Exchange program is maintained on a cost recovery basis.
Service Cost
Services for non-University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus participants are charged as
follows:
- Periodical Request fills (per issue)—$4.00
- Special Sets items (per volume in set ordered)—$8.00
Due to the fact that we incur greater shipping costs for residents outside of the MINITEX
region, we will also be increasing prices for our participants outside of Minnesota, North
Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin:
- Periodical Request fills (per issue)—$5.00
- Special Sets items (per volume in set ordered)—$10.00
Billing Procedures
A statement is sent with every shipment of Serials Exchange material. It includes information
on how many fills and purchases you have made in that month. If there is any problem with
the statement or any discrepancy between what is shipped and what is received, please contact
us immediately so that an adjustment can be made.
Participants are billed approximately one month after items from both the Periodical Request
Service and the Special Sets List are shipped. Invoices contain only the number of issues
filled, the number of Special Sets items filled and the total cost of the shipment. Individual
issues are not listed.
Postage, handling and shipping are included in the cost of the items. Filled items will be
shipped via the most convenient and cost effective method for the MINITEX office depending
on the library and the size of the shipment.
Reconciling Errors
Any problem or discrepancy in a Special Sets or Periodical Request order should be brought
to our attention within two weeks of receiving the materials. No credit will be given for
mistakes that we have made that are not brought to our attention within two weeks of shipment.
