The Enhancing Quality Staff (EQS) symposium, hosted by the University of Minnesota Libraries, returns for 2024! EQS offers a platform for library paraprofessionals and support staff to learn about various professional and personal development topics from distinguished guests. This year’s topics will include sessions on:

  • Generative AI;
  • Botanical Art;
  • Digital accessibility;
  • Junk journals;
  • Censorship resistance;
  • and much more.

EQS presents a fantastic chance to exchange ideas and share experiences with peers, learn new skills, and engage with cutting edge ideas affecting public and academic libraries.

EQS is Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the Humphrey Conference Center on the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. (Central Time) with a welcome and keynote presentations, followed by breakout sessions. Attendees choose between 20-plus sessions throughout the day. A box lunch and refreshments will be provided. The symposium will conclude at 4:00 p.m. More details can be found on the EQS website.

Registration is free for University of Minnesota employees, $80 for attendees outside the University of Minnesota, and $30 for students. Registration closes on May 20th.
