Body

The University of Minnesota Libraries is excited to share that through close collaboration with select vendors, Minnesota middle- and high-school students participating in History Day will have temporary access to a select suite of primary and secondary source materials. These resources, covering a wide variety of topics and time periods, include:

  • World’s Fairs: A Global History of Expositions (1851-2015)
  • American Indian Newspapers (1828-2016)
  • African American Newspapers (1827-1998)
  • Life Magazine Archive (1936-2000)
  • Supreme Court records
  • INS immigration records
  • ….and more

Educators and students can request access to these resources by filling out this form. You must be a teacher or student at a Minnesota school participating in History Day.  This project began as a way to replace the in-person field trip experience that is not happening this year. It expanded to include access to these resources for all Minnesota students and educators participating in History Day, not just those who can usually come to Wilson Library. Schools who are restricted by geography, budget, or other reasons can get the same access as those who could make the trip in person.
