Body

The Minnesota public libraries participating with MNLINK have agreed to an updated best practices policy related to billing for overdue and damaged materials. The updated agreement was ratified during the Nov. 5, 2020 meeting of the MNLINK Operations Committee. This document is now publicly available on the About MNLINK page at MNLINK.org.

Some of the changes to highlight are an increased minimum threshold for billing to replace material, which has been raised to $10, firmer timelines for a library to send a replacement bill to the borrowing institution, and for a library to respond with payment. Remember that some libraries will accept replacement copies, but that is determined by the billing library policies.  Please check first, before assuming a library will accept a replacement!
