Quick Summary
Representatives from every type of library and every Minnesota region, along with one representative each from North Dakota and South Dakota, come together to form the Minitex Policy Advisory Council. The Council is designed to shape Minitex services and plan for the future of the library community.
Minitex is extremely grateful for the knowledge and the effort of each member of the Policy Advisory Council (see below). Without their work, Minitex would not be the organization we are today. Likewise, Council members depend on input and feedback from their constituencies. Please review the list at the bottom of this article to familiarize yourself with your representative, and be ready to play your part if ever you find their name on a call for feedback in your email inbox.
Members of the Council are either elected by their constituency group or selected by State Library Services and can serve up to two three-year terms. The Council meets quarterly in March, June, September, and December. All of the group's supporting documents are posted to the Minitex website as soon as they become available. These include meeting agendas and minutes as well as reports from members and Minitex staff.
The formal purpose of the Council is to "advise the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE) and the Minitex Director in planning, development, and evaluation of the programs and services of Minitex." The Council's Charge & Procedures are publicly available on the Minitex website.
