Body

According to an analysis of federal data, U.S. public schools have lost almost 20% of their librarians since 2000.  This probably comes as no surprise to many of you.  The largest drop in school librarians occurred after the 2008 recession but unfortunately, it has not rebounded.  Employment rates in the U.S are back up but school librarians, or media specialists positions, have not followed suit.  If you're up for learning more about the sad trend you can access the article here: "U.S. public schools have lost nearly 20% of their librarians since 2000."
