The Upper Midwest Literary Archives comprises the papers of individuals such as Robert Bly, Bill Holm, James Wright, and Trish Hampl, as well as the records of small press publishers such as Milkweed Editions and Graywolf Press, and related published materials. The curator is responsible for research services, collection development and management, collaborating with faculty in using the collection for teaching and providing instruction, and community outreach, which can include exhibits and presentations.

Position Overview

  • Carry out curatorial functions for the Upper Midwest Literary Archives.
  • Provide basic research services for ASC by staffing the Information/Reception desk and Reading Room.
  • Provide other central service functions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years.
  • Position involves comparing, verifying and reconciling data to help department achieve overall objectives.

Preferred

  • Experience providing research assistance to users of archival and book collections.
  • Experience arranging and describing archival collections.
  • Experience supervising student employees.
