Registration is now open for the November 9th Minitex Technical Services Symposium! This year’s theme is Good Trouble: Activism and Ethics in Technical Services. Keynote speaker Beth Shoemaker will speak about her work as the co-chair of the Cataloging Ethics Steering Committee, which published the Cataloging Code of Ethics in January 2021. We will also hear from special guest Kenda Zellner-Smith about her project Save the Boards, which seeks to preserve the art that sprang up following the murder of George Floyd and the subsequent protests.
The virtual conference will also feature breakout sessions led by colleagues from around the country, discussing the work they are doing to combat bias and increase justice in our library systems.
Registration is $25, and some scholarships are available for staff from underrepresented libraries, cultural heritage organizations, and students studying Library and Information Science. Contact Sara Ring (email@example.com) for more information if you're in need of scholarship assistance.
We hope to see you in November!
