from Ovid:

We are pleased to announce that there will be an Ovid platform release on Saturday, May 5th beginning at approximately 4:00pm ET; this release will take approximately 12 hours. View your local time. During this timeframe there will be no planned down time. Please log into Ovid after the release to see the updates.

PLEASE NOTE: During this time we strongly advise that you do not manually run any AutoAlerts. It is possible during this window that links within your emailed AutoAlert results will not be populated and that the result set will not be deduplicated. Scheduled AutoAlert runs will not be impacted.

Updates included in this release:

•   AutoAlerts
We have implemented the use of the DOI in the AutoAlerts deduplication process; this will now mirror the deduplication process utilized in Ovid searches.
Additionally, any personal accounts that have been disabled will also have their AutoAlerts disabled.

•   Saved Searches
With a new real-time status display (see screenshot above), you will be able to see how long each line takes and, if necessary, make refinements to your search in order to increase overall performance. When the search is completed, you will see the standard search results. We plan to add similar timings to the Search History section on the results page in a future release.

At Ovid, we are always listening and constantly striving to provide you and your users with the best experience possible. This includes protecting your security and privacy concerns. To this end, we will no longer support Internet Explorer versions 8, 9, and 10 after December 31, 2018. These browsers are no longer supported or updated by Microsoft and are vulnerable to malicious software.

This does not mean Ovid will cease to function with these browsers. However, by the end of this year we will no longer be testing Ovid with these browsers or fixing issues that may be specific to these browsers.

We understand that certain policies prevent users from updating browsers and we hope that giving you this information now will help you prepare.

Feel free to contact Customer Support with any questions by sending an email to support@ovid.com.
