Body

With many libraries closing their physical locations, MNLINK.org is offering a new way for Minnesota residents to directly request electronic journal articles and chapters of electronic books. Just visit MNLINK.org and click on the red “Request Electronic Resources” link (see image above) to begin your request.

Fill out the form as completely as possible, and Minitex staff will locate an electronic resource to fill your request, if it is available. If you don’t already have something specific in mind, you can start your research at the University of Minnesota Library Search portal.

MNLINK is just one of several online library resources available to Minnesota residents right now. Ebooks Minnesota hosts over 10,000 books at EbooksMN.org, and the Minnesota Digital Library features more than 50,000 primary source materials from almost 200 libraries and cultural heritage organizations from across Minnesota.

Books and journal articles are available via eLibrary Minnesota. Many of the vendors that have submitted proposals to be included in eLibrary Minnesota have also made their content available until June, 2020. View the full list of Temporary Access Databases

Other temporarily free resources include:

  • VitalSource Bookshelf - create an account and borrow freely until May 10, 2020
  • RedShelf - create an account for access to books through May 25, 2020
  • ProjectMuse - free resources, many available until June 2020
