Body

Ebooks MN has added 200 new titles from The Creative Company. The newly added collection from this children’s book publisher of illustrated and library books includes everything from art to science with titles like Michelangelo, part of the Odysseys in Artistry series, and Dolphins, part of the young readers science series, Seedlings, to award-winning children’s poetry and books about sports. Readers fascinated by the olympics this summer can learn more with the Summer Olympics Legends series. Curious readers can delve into mysteries such as Area 51, named one of Booklist’s Top 10 Series in Nonfiction.

The new collection even includes award-winning titles in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, including: Rose Blanche, the true story of a young German girl who fought the injustices of war in Nazi Germany, which won the American Library Association 1986 Mildred L. Batchelder Award, A Night on the Range, a fictional story that won the 2011 Spur Award for Best Storyteller from Western Writers of America, and Everything is a Poem, part of the National Council of Teachers of English 2015 Notable Poetry List.

One of the most notable titles in this list is the Harlem Hellfighters, which has won multiple awards in children’s literature. Anna Erickson, who recently interviewed with Ebooks MN about Creative’s role in the project, highlighted this title. When asked what Creative is most proud of as a publisher and what publications they are most excited about, she answered: “It would be impossible to single out a specific title. Our publisher, Tom Peterson, will tell you that his favorite book is the one he is working on right now. However, we are very proud of the relationships we have developed over time with our authors and illustrators. For example, it took time for J. Patrick Lewis and Gary Kelley to develop the partnership they brought to bear with their award-winning Harlem Hellfighters. It represented their 5th collaboration with Creative over 10 years. We love this book, but we value the ongoing relationship with Pat and Gary even more.”
