Four months out from launching Ransom!, a database search game that challenges library staff to solve a mystery by searching the ELM databases, we put together an internal progress report on the use of the game to date. Much of that would not be interesting to folks outside of Minitex, but we wanted to share a few snippets – mostly in the hope that it encourages you to play the game and to share it with your colleagues.

The (optional) evaluation asks for agreement or disagreement on the two questions above.

We looked at all of the comments we received and highlighted a few that reveal alignment with the game’s three learning objectives:
