Medcom, Inc. (Medcom) is a producer and distributor of healthcare education programs, including streaming video for healthcare education in schools and libraries and has been a content provider to ProQuest / Alexander Street for many years.

Unfortunately, Medcom has ceased business operations and 2024 is the last year they will review and update the videos in Nursing Education in Video: 3rd Edition, one of the databases in Nursing & Allied Health Premium.

Access to Nursing Education in Video: 3rd Edition will end on or around December 15, 2024, when our agreement with Medcom ends.

If your institution would like to maintain access to this content, a Perpetual Access License to Nursing Education in Video: 3rd Edition is available to buy until December 31, 2024, allowing you to retain access to this content in perpetuity. Please contact cpers@umn.edu to pursue this option.

Replacing these videos in Nursing & Allied Health Premium is Clinical Nursing Skills in Video, a new and expanding collection of regularly updated demonstration and training videos produced by ProQuest to aid nursing students and professionals in developing their clinical skills. Expect these videos to be added later this month or early March. Benefits include:

  • Currency: All videos come from 2023 onwards and will be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure adherence to the latest nursing standards and best practices
  • Quality: All videos are peer-reviewed and accredited by the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialling Center) to ensure a consistently high quality
  • Curriculum aligned: Topics and skills demonstrated in this collection have been selected by our advisory board of licensed nurses, nursing educators, researchers, and librarians to ensure they meet current standards of clinical judgement
