The Dakota County Historical Society continues to add to its MDL collection with a second set of early suburban photos by noted editor and newspaper photographer Del Stelling. Stelling traveled around Savage, Shakopee, Burnsville, Eagan, and Apple Valley, documenting the sights and stories of these towns and cities as they changed from farmland to suburban neighborhoods. His images capture these areas in a time of transition, and show episodes from the mid-20th century history still well within living memory. Peruse the collection for a sense of nostalgia or to learn more about the early development of the area.
