Minitex and the Minnesota Digital Library, with funding from the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), have partnered with the Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museums' Mutual Assistance Team to create a series of caches of emergency supplies located around the state. These caches contain supplies to help organizations quickly address and ameliorate the harmful effects of a number of natural disasters on their collections. The supplies are available to be used by libraries, archives, county historical societies, and other cultural heritage organizations when emergencies occur.

Want to learn more about the caches and how to access them? Mutual Assistance Team lead Adam Smith, Archive Technician at Mankato State University, will be joined by team members Jenna Collins, Collections Manager at the History Center of Olmsted County and Gibson Stanton, Alliance Coordinator for the Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museums, to give a presentation about the caches, how they were established, what they contain, and how to request supplies on Friday, November 17th at 10:00 am. This informational event is free and will be held virtually. Registration is required and is available on the Minitex website
