Beginning June 1st Minitex shifted four locations from overnight delivery to On-Demand service. This is a service provided by Alliance Courier for Minitex locations that have fewer items in their daily delivery.
The cost savings structure of overnight courier delivery becomes ineffective when the volume slips below a certain level. Our choices when this happens is either to shift over to UPS, the United States Postal Service, or to use an On-Demand service.
Locations using On-Demand service to ship to Minitex place interlibrary loan materials in pouches. Then, they may call Alliance Courier to arrange a pickup either the same day or the following morning for delivery direct to the Minitex office. Returned and reusable pouches are packaged in the Minitex office and shipped back to the On-Demand locations via UPS.

- Minnesota Department of Transportation
- Minnesota Legislative Reference Library
- Minnesota Department of Natural Resources / Pollution Control Agency
