David Zopfi-Jordan, librarian at the University of Minnesota Law Library, recently wrote an article published in the Journal of Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery & Electronic Reserve.  David's article, "Interlibrary Loan Options with Digital Equipment," offers practical ideas and solutions for library staff using digital equipment for interlibrary loan.

A few of our Resource Sharing staff members visited David to see some of the digital equipment he uses. Based on his recommendation, we purchased a portable hand-held scanner that has been helpful for some types of scanning. It is small and cordless, so we use it to scan smaller scale fragile items with tighter bindings. This gives us the option to supply certain items we might not have been able to in the past.

David's article is in the Journal of Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery & Electronic Reserve, v25, Issue 1-2, 2015, pages 15-24. If you do not have access to this journal and would like to read it, submit an ILL request!
