Quick Summary
Minitex staff are visiting libraries using Ex Libris Alma Resource Sharing to get a better understanding of each other’s needs.
We have been working in Ex Libris Alma Resource Sharing for about five months now. During this time, we have made adjustments to our workflow, a few mistakes, but most importantly we have learned how to be patient, to think outside the box and to do the best we can to make it work for our libraries.
Currently, we feel more comfortable in Alma Resource Sharing, to the point that we can troubleshoot with ease. We are still waiting for functionalities like renewals and sending a digital request directly to patrons. In the meantime, Kevin Kelley and I are making site visits to Alma libraries this summer. These site visits allow us to learn from you and to see how your processes work in Alma. Very often, during these site visits, we get a better understanding of each other’s needs so we can tweak processes easily, and it benefits both the libraries and Minitex.
