Body

The Minitex Delivery Unit tries to balance getting materials shipped while paying attention to how we pack items so they are not damaged in transit. Most days we seem to get it right. However, some days we might have placed the Miles Davis vinyl box set at the bottom of a tub bound for a library under 9 academic thesis volumes. (I am hoping this has never actually happened, even if I use it as an example.)

We are working to reduce the number of items damaged in transit. Beginning last month we shifted our processes so that audiovisual and fragile items are packed on top of books that might damage them in transit.  Some fragile items such as vinyl albums are packed in either a cardboard mailer or a bubble bag and placed into the tub last.

While we might not get it right all the time we will continue working to improve this process. We would appreciate your feedback on our delivery service.
