Connexion Client Module 1: WorldCat, MARC, and Client Basics

Presented by Lizzy Baus (Minitex), this online module provides basic information about the WorldCat bibliographic database and the MARC record format. It also provides an introduction to the program interface, as well as instruction on how to set up and navigate the Connexion Client program. After completing this web-based training, learners will be prepared to read basic MARC records, set up Connexion Client on their workstation, and successfully enter commands via the program’s various input methods.

Maintaining Collections in CONTENTdm is the third webinar in the basic series for users new to CONTENTdm. Becky Ringwelski met with Katie Birch, Executive Director, OCLC Resource Sharing while attending the American Library Association midwinter conference in Atlanta this year. Becky wanted to learn more about the plans for a replacement for the VDX interlibrary loan system currently used by MNLINK.

OCLC Resource Sharing Conference session recordings available

OCLC is making recordings of the sessions from the 2017 Resource Sharing Conference, "Sharing Breakthroughs," held in Virginia Beach, Virginia March 13-16 available for everyone to watch.

Deadline extended to upgrade to Connexion client 2.63

In July 2016, OCLC released Connexion client 2.63 and announced that users will not be able to log in with previous versions after February 28, 2017. There was a period of time the upgrade message did not properly display upon opening Connexion client so OCLC is extending the deadline to April 3, 2017 to allow for additional time to upgrade. This means that on April 3rd users of Connexion client 2.40, 2.50 and 2.51 will no longer be able login.
